Adoration of the Shepherds Renaissance Nativity Christmas Card, Personalised or Blank

A fine art nativity Christmas card with the image of The Adoration of the Shepherds by Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494).  This altarpiece takes pride of place in the Sassetti Chapel in Florence which was consecrated to the birth of Christ. There is a Roman sarcophagus in the picture, which is an allusion to the coming of Christ through the prophecy of Fulvius, killed by Pompey The Great during the Roman conquest of Jerusalem. According to the prophecy, from the remains of Fulvius in the sarcophagus would a God arise.  In the Renaissance world this was understood to foretell the coming victory of Christianity over Paganism.
